Mercado is the brand new restaurant on the ground floor of The Lumiares.  With high ceilings and huge glass fronted doors that open up onto the street, this is a light-filled and inviting space that is a fantastic addition to the hotel – and to the neigbourhood.

Mercado is a restaurant of two halves – literally! On the right (as you enter from the street) is the café serving coffee, snacks and cakes in an informal setting.  You can even buy cheeses and hams, home-made sandwiches and chutneys here if you fancy taking some back to your room for later…

On the left is the restaurant – still relaxed but serving light meals  (salads/quiches) alongside delicious traditional Portuguese dishes including some of the chef’s all-time favourites honed from over twenty years in the business.

As with our rooftop restaurant Lumni, celebrated Portuguese chef Miguel Castro e Silva is at the helm and has created Mercado especially for The Lumiares.  We think he’s done a fabulous job and absolutely love it – we hope you do too.  Let us know what you think!
